Workplace 2012 is almost here. Racial, gender, and ethnic diversity have been superseded by a bigger issue: age diversity in the workforce.
Managing Change: Understanding the Demographics of the Evolving Workforce.
There are four age cohorts in the workplace now and a fifth coming on by 2015. these five groups share some traditional work values but differ on such important ones as what community means, what participation means, the role of management, employer/employee loyalty, telecommuting, technical competence, and what constitutes a good day’s work. Even in a recession retaining young talent is difficult.
In this program we’ll get an overview of the workplace values, lifestyle, and social values of the groups set to dominate the workplace in the next decade. For example, money motivates Pre-Boomers and Boomers but is far less effective with Cuspers, Busters, and Netsters.
